Berry Grower Encourages Employees to Celebrate Health and Wellbeing at Super 5K
May 13, 2019 – (Oxnard, California) – Reiter Affiliated Companies (RAC) celebrates its 10 year anniversary of Health and Wellbeing programs with Super 5K Walk Run & Resource Fair events in Watsonville, Santa Maria and Oxnard.
“We are excited to be celebrating our decade long journey of wellbeing for our employees,” said Yissel Barajas, Chief Human Resources Officer. “Our entire organization is highly focused on enriching the lives of our employees, helping to grow and sustain a culture of wellbeing by offering educational programs, exercise classes, outdoor activities as well as connecting our employees with wellness resources throughout their local communities.”
In 2009, RAC established La Clinica FreSalud to provide employees with affordable access to primary care and improve the quality of healthcare for farm workers and their families by providing a culturally competent approach to intervention, prevention and maintenance health care through consistent and comprehensive services.
That same year, RAC partnered with UC Davis to develop an obesity and diabetes prevention and management program with the vision of empowering field employees and their families to make educated choices that lead to improved health and happiness. Today, Sembrando Salud Harvesting Wellbeing continues to educate and engage all employees to be agents of change in their home, workplace, and community for a healthy and happy agricultural community.
“In honor of our ten year anniversary, the team agreed it would be a great time to celebrate with events across all of our California operations,” said Eric Reiter, VP of California Production. “People are our greatest asset as an agricultural business, and we believe that by hosting these family friendly events we can help spark a positive change in their lives.”
