PARTNERSHIP ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Northern District, Full-Time, Exempt

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reiter Affiliated Companies, an International Berry Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our accounting team.  We currently have a career opportunity available for a Partnership Accounting Manager in the Watsonville District.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Partnership Accounting Manager manages staff accountants and A/P departments as they relate to the service of the financial reporting and transactional accounting of the Watsonville District Partnerships. Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports for multiple companies under the Reiter Affiliated Companies group.  Accomplishes tasks with particular emphasis on customer service and seeks to add value for RAC managers.

DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, cost centers and documents business transactions.
  • Staff management and development.
  • Analyze transactional processes and identify areas where additional accuracies and efficiencies can be achieved.
  • Applies cost accounting methods to achieve accurate representation of cost center performance.
  • Assist with annual budgets – prepares all allocations;
  • Closely maintains and monitors the fixed assets system.
  • Adheres to internal and external deadlines.
  • Distributes monthly comparison reports and cost center reports according to schedules.
  • Prepares financial statements and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position.
  • Responsible for distributing financial statements and cost center reports.
  • Prepares work papers and supporting schedules for the annual financial review.
  • Reviews accounts payables and weekly check runs.
  • Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits.
  • Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company procedures.
  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and at least four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Previous experience managing and developing staff.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of integrated accounting software; strong Excel spreadsheet competency and fixed asset management software.
