Supply Chain Assistant

Aromas, CA - Non Excempt, Full Time  

 

POSITION PURPOSE

Assist the Director of Supply Chain Management, performing a variety of administrative functions. The individual will handle multiple projects and a variety of complex tasks, directly facilitating technical and clerical support for the Supply Chain Department. Coordinate logistical and procurement activities in an efficient manner to achieve organization's goals. Due to the nature of the position and the department, a wide degree of creativity and self determination is expected. The individual will rely on experience and good judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and maintain procurement schedules
  • Monitor contracted services and invoices.
  • Provide technical support to department (e.g. create and maintain databases, develop spreadsheets, develop presentations, update webpage).
  • Perform general office administrative duties (e.g. compose memos, transcribe notes, conduct research, and generate reports).
  • Perform secretarial duties (e.g. event/meeting organization, mail distribution, travel arrangements, maintain confidential files)
  • Perform Reception Duties (e.g. greet visitors, direct incoming calls, etc.)
  • Coordinate special projects as required.

Job Description

 

Reiter Affiliated Companies, an international berry farming company, is seeking a Bilingual Production Assistant to join our Berry Production team.  We currently have a position available for Production Assistant in our Salinas office. 

 

Position Purpose

 

To provide support to the Salinas partnerships. The production assistant will assist the partners, VP and staff to ensure all clerical, administrative and compliance requirements are efficiently completed.  Therefore, we are seeking someone with a high level of professionalism, capable of executing complex projects, and computer savvy in order to successfully support the Strawberry, Raspberry and Blackberry growing partners.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Generate daily and weekly production reports using excel
  • Gather and update pesticide/fertilizer application reports and submit to various parties
  • Manage supplies and ordering
  • Code expenses for berry production and submit to accounting department for processing
  • Update and maintain maps of ranches with current acreage, varieties and planting dates
  • Inspect and ensure ranches are in compliance and prepared for audit
  • Prepare all documentation needed for internal and external safety compliance audits. Maintain all audit binders up to date and complete.
  • Track production accuracy through papeletas
  • Review profile summary to ensure compliance with rest breaks, lunches and crates harvested
  • Complete overhead time report. Ensure report is accurate and ready for submission to payroll department
  • Export reports to payroll for processing
  • Help coordinate meetings and training sessions
  • Train personnel in proper methods of gathering and submitting information/reports

Position Purpose:

Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports for multiple companies under the Reiter Affiliated Companies group.  Accomplishes tasks with particular emphasis to customer service and seeks to add value for RAC managers and partners.

Job Summary: 

General Responsibilities include:

  • Primary responsibility is to compile and analyze financial information and supporting schedules according to the monthly close schedule. This includes posting journal entries to general ledger accounts, and cost centers.
  • Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures in a timely manner.
  • Application of cost accounting methods to achieve accurate representation of cost center performance.
  • Assist with annual budgets and prepare allocations as needed.
  • Closely maintains and monitors the fixed assets system to ensure it is reconciled to the general ledger.

North Carolina Berry Farming Development Manager

Reports to: VP of Business Development & Operations

Wilmington, NC, Full-Time, Exempt

 

Position Purpose:

The North Carolina Berry Farming Development Manager (“NC Berry Manager”) performs the vital function of developing and operating RAC’s North Carolina berry production programs in a manner that is economically successful, strategically oriented, and technically innovative.  

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the VP of Business Development and Operations, the NC Berry Manager will create a RAC berry farming presence in North Carolina, directly manage its farming operations, and be responsible for its P&L. The NC Berry Manager will be responsible for all aspects of RAC’s new farming operation, including overseeing ranch development, managing the ground prep and planting process, hiring and management of operational and harvest labor, and engaging in day to day cultural growing practices and harvest activities in order to ensure successful crops.  The NC Berry Manager will be responsible for the sourcing and development of new partner/growers; will provide production support and economic analysis to the grower base; will participate in the long-term planning of RAC’s North Carolina berry production programs; and will coordinate these plans with Driscoll’s (“DSA”) long-term growth strategy.

General Responsibilities Include

P&L: Develop and manage operating and capital budgets; manage costs; and deliver expected profitability.

Ranch management: Execute and supervise all farming activities, including irrigation system installation, land prep, planting, fertilization and pesticide applications, pruning, and harvesting.

Hiring and management of labor:  Identifies, sources, and hires labor; develops and manages crews; ensures proper training; manages performance.

Business development: Research and identify new opportunities for expansion into nearby or other regions of North Carolina. Develop contacts and relationships with potential landlords and partners for future expansion.

Agronomic support: Advise partner growers on the latest and best current production practices from within the RAC/DSA organizations, as well as from university and other outside industry resources; develop and advance knowledge and innovations that deliver competitive advantage.

Planning: Assist in the development of long-term production plans, as well as crop budgeting and forecasting

Reporting:  Assist in the development and delivery of comparative production and financial crop reporting.  Prepare and deliver summary results and informational presentations to colleagues and to growers.

Other: Travel required between RAC and DSA's various districts; industry conferences, etc.

Job Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in an appropriate agronomic field required.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in production agriculture required.
  • Direct berry crop farming or research experience preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Summary
To provide support to the Human Resources Department in our Santa Maria District.  The HR Specialist is responsible for supporting the day to day operations aspects of Human Resources’ programs, policies and processes for the district.  The position acts as a generalist as it touches all aspects for Human resources such as: hiring and entering employees in to the system; making personnel changes, benefit enrollment and eligibility, minor employee relations, safety, workers compensation, and compliance.

Summary of Responsibilities
Enter new hire information into HRIS system

  • Run reports to support compliance efforts with EDD and other government agencies to include verification of employment
  • Support outreach, eligibility and enrollment efforts for our field benefit program to include our exclusive Fresalud Clinics.
  • Run reports from our HRIS System as needed
  • Assist Oxnard and Watsonville Fleet Administrators with local support as needed
  • Coordinate and support the training programs delivered to the production team
  • Supply all necessary postings to maintain compliance with all Local, State and Federal Agencies
  • Assist Work Comp Managers with local support as needed to include submitting initial claim information and injury reports to carriers.

The position will facilitate maintenance and upgrades of existing applications, code and administer general data base.

Summary

The programmer’s main task will be programming solutions as well as maintaining all technical aspects of existing software applications, which include: generation and support of source code, maintenance/implementation of new software and database infrastructure.  Great communication skills are required as this person will need to communicate with end users, determine requirements, write and interpret technical/functional specifications.  Directing of outsource programming groups will be required as well as interface within the IT department and outside application vendors.

Director of Corporate Accounting

Position

Candidate is responsible for overseeing the General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions and the financial services area including, A/P, Payroll and A/R.  Also, he or she is responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all financial policies and US GAAP.

 

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Oversees the general accounting function, which includes:
  • General Ledger Accounting,
  • Accounts Payable, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Grower Accounting
  • Financial Reporting and consolidations
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  • Leads process for the preparation of the year-end financial statements with footnotes and supporting schedules.
  • Accountable for ensuring that policies, controls, procedures and staff competencies are in place to provide reasonable assurance of protection, with regards to asset protection and integrity of financial reporting.
  • Provides technical accounting GAAP guidance and support to all company entities. At times, this may include involvement in due diligence and other activities surrounding acquisitions/dispositions.
  • Ensures that company financial records, under responsibility, are maintained in compliance with company policies and US GAAP. Responsible for reviewing monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and other documents to ensure this compliance.
  • Ensures that the accounting department is staffed with qualified financial personnel capable of meeting the objectives and responsibilities, noted above. Responsible for continued development of these associates.
  • Provides insightful analysis and interpretation of financial results.
  • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • CPA certification
  • MBA highly preferred
  • 15 years of combined experience in:
  • Public accounting, private industry in a publicly traded company, and within multinational businesses.
  • Must possess cost accounting knowledge and cost analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions
  • Experience in analyzing business performance and developing financial plans within an agricultural or manufacturing environment.
