RAC originally expanded their operations into Mexico in the summer of 1993 under the name of Berrymex. This first trial was very small and focused on growing both strawberries and raspberries.
In 1994 it began their grower program in Mexico. This partnership program dramatically affected Berrymex’s performance and production. Now Berrymex makes up 17 percent of all RAC production. Berrymex employees and growers continue to expand production in almost every section of the berry patch, including organic berries.
Berrymex has operations in North Baja, Jalisco, and Michoacan. Berrymex’s youthful staff has created a fun and innovative team. Their dedication and hard work has been a key success factor. As the future continues to look brighter and brighter for Berrymex, both RAC, and its customer Driscoll Strawberry Associates continue providing the region with ongoing knowledge and support.
